10:15 – 10:25 SPEAKER: BOB ALBEE: PHILLIPS COMMUNITY CENTER POOL- Bob explained the challenges to saving the pool and how that turned into saving the whole building. He explained the Phillips Parks Community Unitiative, in which each Phillips Neighborhood sent a representative to work on coordinating all our efforts for all the Phillips Rec. and Community Facilities.
10:25 – 10:40 EXPLANATION OF THE ELECTION PROCESS, NOMINATIONS,
No one was nominated from the floor. The slate was adopted unanimously.
New Board Members are Tim Chancey, Mahamed Cali and Hannah Leider, Accepting another term are Jennie Bjorgo and Carol Pass. Continuing for the second year of their terms are Mary Gonsior, Rosie Cruz, Linda Leonard, and Earl Simms.
10:55 – 11:10 NRP- EXPLANATION – Q AND A
11:10 - 11:30 DOT-MOCRACY for PHASE ONE REVIEW AND COMMENTS: Folks put their dots on the EPIC projects they like the most and felt benefitted the neighborhood the most. Then neighbors filled out a survey to determine past successes, current difficulties and future want/needs. This is part of our Phase One Review and Citizen Participation, also a beginning of future planning.
11:35 – 11: 50 WHAT IS PHASE 2 ? Q AND A, PRE-PLANNING,
CHOOSING PREFERENCES. A question came up, could we submit proposals for Phase 2 now? The process of required neighborhood decision- making was explained. Phase 1 Review and a Participation Agreement must be created and accepted. Then the neighborhood must determine its priorities, bearing in mind that Housing is to use 70% of the funding. Then each proposal submitted must be looked at for compliance and conformity to NRP and the neighborhood plan. And then voted on by the membership.
